A bank that holds close to 20 percent of deposits in Ingham County will be sold, its owners announced Monday.
LaSalle Bank customers in Michigan would become Bank of America customers under the deal.
Troy-based LaSalle Bank Midwest N.A. and its parent, LaSalle Bank Corporation in Chicago, are being sold by their Dutch owner ABN Amro Holding NV to Bank of America, which is based in Charlotte, N.C.
LaSalle holds 18 percent of bank deposits in Ingham County, 16 percent in Eaton County and 6 percent in Jackson County, according to a bank spokesman. The numbers come from a June 2006 analysis by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
