Online Threats Close Michigan Community College

Threats posted on an online blog worried Kalamazoo Valley Community College officials enough today that they shut down the campus for the rest of the week.

Police say the first message, posted yesterday, praises the Virginia Tech shooting massacre. A second message posted earlier this morning suggests the government kills people each day.

In a statement, a college spokesman says state police notified the school about a specific threat to the campus and that the college is working with authorities.

Kalamazoo County sheriff's Lieutenant Terry VanStreain says police believe a male suspect held in custody is responsible for writing the messages. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
