Authorities say a newborn baby girl was found in a trash bin outside a Garden City collision shop.
Police tell local broadcasters that the baby was found about 5:30 p.m. Friday. Police were called after people heard a noise from the bin.
The baby was taken into the shop until police arrived. Authorities say they've located the mother, but weren't sure whether charges would be filed. The baby was taken to a hospital for treatment.
