Universal Healthcare

The doctors of tomorrow rally Tuesday on the steps of the Capitol. They say the state needs universal healthcare.

Michigan State medical students say there are far too many uninsured and underinsured people all over the state.

Many are hoping a lawsuit filed Tuesday afternoon at the Ingham County Circuit Court against the state will bring sweeping changes to healthcare.

The lawsuit filed on behalf of the Michigan Universal Health Care Action Network and others is asking the state for universal healthcare.

Among the claims, it states Michigan failed to pass suitable laws for the promotion of public health.

The state Department of Community Health says it dedicates $6 billion to the underinsured and uninsured throughout the state.
