Montrece Simpson, 10, and Antrana Brown, 15, are alive, but seriously injured after being shot Tuesday night.

Jackson Police are looking for the person who shot them around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The kids were outside of Montrece's home on Jackson Street, with a number of other young children, when a man wearing dark clothes walked up and shot them. Montrece was shot in the stomach. Antrana was shot in the head.

Lt. Aaron Kantor, with the Jackson Police Department, says physical evidence was taken from the scene and dozens of people who are either relatives of the victims or witnessed the crime have been interviewed. Police are still trying to determine a motive.

Alfred Taylor, Montrece's Uncle, insists the kids were just the victims. "They were just sitting on the porch. Two kids shot for no reason," he said standing outside the home Wednesday afternoon.

If you have any information about the shooting, please call Jackson Police at (517) 788-4100.
