Lansing Township Police responded to a robbery at the Admiral Gas Station just before noon Thursday. Less than an hour later, Meridian Township Police were called to a robbery at the Tanfaster Tanning Salon.

Police say the manager at the gas station was leaving the store to get in her car to go make a bank deposit. They say a suspect talking on a pay phone watched the manager walking to her car, came over, and punched the woman, threatening her with a knife, and stole the moneybag.

In Meridian Township, the Tanfaster on Marsh Rd. was robbed at 12:40 p.m. Employees tell police the man said he had a gun and demanded money. When they gave him the money, he left.

Both departments have released descriptions of the men, but at this point have not linked the two crimes.

Lansing Township Police say they are looking for a black male in his 23's or 30's between 5'8'' and 5'9''. They say he was wearing dark clothing at the time of the robbery.

Meridian Township Police are looking for a black male in his 20's, about 5'7'' tall, with a pronounced dimple in his chin. He was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and do-rag.
