Pipeline Passes Hurdle

The Michigan Public Service Commission (M.P.S.C.) approved the Wolverine Pipeline Spartan Project.

The M.P.S.C. approved Wolverine’s plan with significant modifications. Those modifications include additional safety precautions and technologies, thicker pipe and deeper gas line placement along the side of Interstate-96.

Despite the approval, the City of Lansing may reject Wolverine’s bid to put the pipeline in portions of South Lansing.

David Hollister, Mayor of Lansing, says Wolverine has yet to meet his criteria of safety and recommends the city council vote down the pipeline from entering Lansing.

Wolverine must gain approval from Lansing, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the neighborhoods nearby the proposed pipeline route.
