Dr. Alex Terrazas says he’s found a sure fire method for battling obesity. It’s the psychological theory know as behavior modification, and he’s using that principal along with high technology to motivate exercise.
A sensor secured to exercise equipment monitors activity.
The movement is then recorded by a counting device and then translated into points.
The points allow a participant access to leisure activities like watching TV or a movie.
The activity is modeled off of psychological experiments that test behavior modification, or the process of altering behavior though a series of rewards.
Terrazas has a patent pending on behavior modification through media devices.
