Jason Seagraves, Sharon Renier, and Drew Walker all participated in Monday's event, hoping to get their message out before the August primary. Mike Davis, organizer of the event, says if students are educated they will be interested.
Republican Nick Smith currently holds the seat representing seven counties in mid and southern Michigan. He's still answering questions about the alleged bribe he says he did not take, which was money for his son's campaign if he were to vote for the Medicare Prescription bill. Smith is retiring at the end of his current term, and his son, Brad Smith, is looking to succeed him.
