Varicose Veins

For years doctors have relied on "stripping" varicose veins. That's actually pulling the veins out of the legs. That can be painful and recovery can take about two weeks, but this new "closure" procedure has changed all that.

The doctor guides a catheter into the vein using ultrasound imaging. Then radio waves are transferred into the blood vessel walls. The vein shrivels down to a tiny fraction of what it was before and then it will be reabsorbed.
