MSU Loses in First Round

The first round of the NCAA Tournament is over for the Spartans. They now head home after a bitter loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack.

The men's basketball team in Seattle last night lost a crushing 72-66 game to Nevada, who now will wait and see who their next opponent will be.

MSU led by almost 16 points a one point, but in the final minutes, the Wolf Pack finished the game on a 16-3 run. Thursday’s loss drops the number 7 seeded team Michigan State to an 18-12 record. It is only the second season out of the last seven where the Spartans have failed to reach 20 victories.

Meanwhile, when March Madness rolls into the city of East Lansing, either win or lose, there have been riots in the streets. Fortunately last night, due to the rain and cold temperatures, the streets were fairly quiet.

East Lansing Police say students remember the punishments that come along when there is rioting. Police also say since the Spartans got bounced out in the first round, there was not enough time to build up the hype in East Lansing.
