Gov. Jennifer Granholm doesn't expect any Michigan cities to follow San Francisco's lead and begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. And if any Michigan cities did, Granholm says she wouldn't support them because they would be a violation of the state's law.
Although Gov. Granholm does not support gay marriages, she does believe that gay couples should have the right to civil unions so they can be protected on issues like property rights.
