Charlotte Company Gets Multi-Million-Dollar Defense Contract

Spartan Chassis in Charlotte is getting another major Pentagon contract.

The Defense Department will pay 16-point-four million dollars for new military vehicles.

Spartan Chassis, which is a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, will build 155 "mine resistant" vehicles.

The company already has a contract to build the "Cougar" troop carrier.

It started a 14-million dollar expansion last year to help with all the work.
