General Motors' profits have more than doubled in the second quarter. Officials attribute some of the success to sales of the Cadillac CTS.
GM reports earnings of $1.3 billion in the period spanning between April and June. Officials say cost cutting efforts and aggressiveness in the marketplace have led to these results.
But another reason is the Cadillac CTS, made at the Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing. The CTS has leaped to the top of the automaker's bestseller list in only six months.
A spokesperson for GM says all of Lansing's plants are responsible for these earnings. GM is closing in on 25,000 models of the CTS sold.
