Wintertime is when most people suffer from dry skin. If left untreated, it can become itchy, and may need prescription creams to help cure it.
"When we come inside and stay indoors during the winter months, the heated air is very dry and it can dry our skin, hair and nails," said Dr. Marcy Street.
Treating the skin comes from within, so Dr. Street suggests patients eat more foods with Vitamins A, C and E. She also recommends flaxseed oil and wheat germ.
Oatmeal baths in lukewarm water can also help. After your bath, pat your skin with a soft towel. Rubbing it can further irritate the skin. Increase your water intake as well.
