Michelle Roderick is the parent of two Jackson students and the spokesperson for Parents Advocating Safer Schools (PASS). A group she started in response to her daughter’s alleged sexual assault.
PASS was formed to be a support group for parents and teachers across the area, but its first goal is to strengthen rules and punishments for school misconduct and violent behavior.
Roderick is asking the Jackson Public School District to update some of its policies such as; separate sexual assault and harassment, a zero tolerance for bomb threats and a written and specific policy for bomb threats.
Daniel Evans, superintendent of Jackson Schools says their policies along with state guidelines already address Roderick’s’ concerns.
