Michigan school report cards are out and the grades brought smiles to some and frowns to others. It's the first time ever schools have received report cards.
No Lansing schools received an "A," but no schools were given a grade of "D" or "F." All Lansing schools did receive accreditation status.
Educators say this information will allow them to target specific areas of need, in the end making every kid in the district a better student.
More than 95-percent of Michigan schools receiving grades were handed a passing grade. Grades are based on the Meap and 11 school performance indicators.
