6 Children Injured in School Bus Accident

COLUMBIA TWP. JACKSON CO. - Six elementary school children are being treated for minor injuries following an accident involving the school bus they were on Wednesday morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says a pick-up truck driver lost control and slid into the path of the Columbia School District bus on Turk Road shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The six children of varying ages were taken to Allegiance Health in Jackson.

The 16-year-old driver of the truck was taken by a family member to Allegiance Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
