Despite accidents, complaints and icy covered roads during the last big snow fall city officials say their policy is successful.
When it snows less than four inches the City of Lansing does not plow streets including residential ones.
That’s a policy that’s been in place since the mid 1980’s.
Some believe that traffic patterns and road updates necessitate a change, however.
City officials say the top three complaints when it comes to the recent winter storm Jan. 3 –5 involve traffic easing projects including; Barnes Ave, Boston Blvd and Moores River Dr.
