Cold Means Cold Hard Cash for Some

For some Beaner’s Coffey stores the dip in the mercury may mean a rise in sales by about 20-percent.

The increase comes primarily from new customers looking for any way to warm up.

For Lansing’s A-O.K. Heating and Cooling, the mid-Michigan freeze could mean a two to three fold increase in sales.

The business owner took 30 to 50 calls just Tuesday to inspect, repair and sell new heaters and furnaces.

For those business and several others around the state winter is a time to profit as opposed to dread.
