State Legislators may be near an end to the ongoing state budget battles to erase a $930 million deficit.

Senate Majority leader, Ken Sikkema - R, says they could craft a compromise as early as Thursday morning.

Other legislators may not be as confident as sessions in the both the House and Senate are scheduled for the weekend.

The house is at odds with Gov. Jennifer Granholm's proposed cuts.

Representatives there want to further cut out the “fat,” including school funding for things such as grants and make deeper cuts into government administration.

The Governor says there is no more room left to cut.

Legislative sessions are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Thursday.
