Oakland County Sheriff Reveals Interest in Running for Governor

By  |

Former GOP state senator Mike Bouchard confesses he is interested in running against Gov. Jennifer Granholm in 2006, but has not made a final decision on getting into the contest.

Bouchard says, "Sure I've thought about it. I haven't ruled it in or out, but if I run I will win."

The one term sheriff in the state's most vote rich GOP region says Granholm is "a very nice person. Very articulate and very likable, but her leadership is sorely lacking."

Bouchard made his remarks during the taping of the Michigan Public TV series "Off the Record."
