It's cheaper to fill your gas tank this week in Michigan.
AAA Michigan the statewide average for self-serve regular is down more than four and a half cents, to about a $1.42. Despite the drop, that's more than four cents a gallon more expensive than at this time last year.
In the Detroit area, the average price for the same gallon is down four pennies to around a $1.41. A year ago, prices in the region cost almost nine cents a gallon less than this week.
In the past two weeks, statewide gas prices have dropped an average of nine cents a gallon.
