A pump which supplies heat went out sometime Monday night. When staff arrived to work Tuesday morning they found temperatures in some rooms to be down to 56 degrees.
Students in those classrooms were put into the computer labs for lessons. Other classrooms were in the 60's. Students remained in those rooms, but were allowed to wear jackets and hats.
Principal Mary Henry says the problem continued into Wednesday morning, but was fixed by the afternoon.
She doesn't blame the problem on the building's age... just that it's a normal mechanical failure that sometimes happens.
