Wendy Day says the program would not force religion into the school... but, would only use the Bible as a text to study things like geography... and other aspects of the Bible as they relate to that time in history.
Arlene-Marie with the Michigan Atheists says that doesn't cut it. Putting a Bible in public classroom with taxpayer dollars is a violation of the separation of church and state.
The class would be elective, according to Day. But, Marie says that doesn't matter... and kids would want college accredited class for their electives.
Day plans to make her motion to the school board Monday night.
