DETROIT (AP) -- A Detroit woman who police say left her three boys home alone could face neglect, abandonment or endangerment charges after officers spent hours overnight looking for the children.
Investigators were in the process of requesting an Amber Alert just before 7 a.m. when the 7-, 6- and 5-year-old boys were tracked down at a friend's home nearly four miles away.
The Detroit Free Press says investigators didn't immediately know how the boys got there.
Their mother told investigators the boys disappeared between 10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m., when she left them alone.
A Detroit police tracking dog was in the process of searching for the kids when they were found. At least eight officers were involved in the search.
