Common Ground Hype
The hype around the festival and why so many refuse to let the economy ruin their fun.

They call themselves Common Ground groupies.
"It's a lot of fun, I've been here since year one. I'll be here all week, I camped out last night," Albert Kemper of Lansing says.
"Those folks have been here for like ten years, they're practically like family. We look forward to them showing up," Festival Organizer, Malinda Barr explains.
Sitting in their fold out chairs, watching every mic check, lighting tweak, and soft drink being put in place.
And the minute they get to their seat-- their very own mid-Michigan vacation is underway.
"The food, the great music, seeing people I haven't run into in years," Kemper says.
And nothing will stand in the way of the fanatics-- not even a faltering economy.
"This is only my only vacation, I had to save up my money to get my ticket," concert goer, Becca Caterino says.
A win/win she adds-- not only for her, but her hometown too. And while a Florida beach may be more desirable as far vacations are concerned, the Common Ground groupies say the beach has nothing on the entertainment right here in town or the company.
"We've met a lot of great people in line over the years, we just congregate here every year and have a big old party," Kemper says.
