A 69-year-old woman nearly drowned on July 4 as she swam in a Jackson County lake near her home.
Patricia Koch of Waterloo Township is in critical condition at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Neighbors spotted Koch floating face down in Clear Lake behind her home on Clear Lake Road. The neighbors pulled her from the water and administered CPR until rescue crews arrived.
Investigators don't know what caused the accident.
