Karim Al-Saedi is behind bars in Eaton County, awaiting his preliminary examination. Thursday, an Eaton County judge charged Al-Saedi with armed robbery and felony fire arm charges.
Investigators allege Al-Saedi is responsible for holding up the Speedway gas station on Saginaw Rd. in Delta Twp back in January as well as the Independent Bank on Lansing Rd. in Charlotte on Oct. 1, 2003.
Investigators say Al-Saedi was also wanted for his role in at least five other armed robberies in Brighton, Fowlerville and Howell. Authorities believe he was also responsible for several convenient store and gas station robberies.
Meanwhile, the FBI is checking into how Al-Saedi used the money he allegedly stole from local banks. They are looking into whether the money is still in the United States or whether he funneled it to family members overseas.
