A southwestern Michigan teenager has been electrocuted after stepping on a power line downed by storms sweeping across the state.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Christopher O'Neil stepped on the line about 11 p.m. Thursday while running to tell neighbors their Oakfield Township home might be on fire after a utility pole fell.
Meanwhile, the newspaper says a home in Sparta Township, also in Kent County, burned following a lightning strike Friday morning.
WZZM-TV reports some roads in Holland, about 25 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, are impassable due to heavy rains, while the Detroit Free Press says a flash flood watch is in effect in the Detroit area as thunderstorms roll into southeast Michigan.
