There's more controversy in the Lansing Mayor's race, as allegations of mudslinging between the two men running for the office take center stage.
Rumors are spreading that campaign volunteers for Lansing Mayor Tony Benavides are using race as a strategy. At the center is a rumor Bernero pulled his daughter out of Lansing schools because she dated or liked a black student.
Benavides denies his volunteers or supporters had anything to do with these rumors. Bernero says he's disappointed with the Mayor and says his family deserves an apology.
Both candidates say they want to put these allegations behind them and more forward with what's more important, the issues.
