Democratic House Minority Leader Dianne Byrum sees a great opportunity to get started on a variety of issues democrats have had tied up for years once they officially take control in January.
But, there is still a republican controlled senate. Republican Majority Senate Leader Ken Sikkema says they, too, will have a variety of issues they want to work on... including the same issues the dems will tackle.
The question will be whether or not the two parties can compromise and work together.
Sikkema and Byrum have worked together for years in both the House and Senate. But, they are both term limited and will not be around next year.
If there is to be compromise it will have to be done with entirely new faces in leadership roles.
