The short list for Lansing School District superintendent includes:

-Ron Circanna, current superintendent of Willow Run Community Schools
-James Coolican--former superintendent of the Peninsula School District in Washington State
-Sammy Felton--superintendent of Anniston City Schools in Anniston, Alabama
-Ricardo Medina--former superintendent of Bridgeport-Spaulding Community Schools near Saginaw
-T.C. Wallace--superintendent of Mount Clemens Community Schools
-Dr. Sharron Jenkins-Norman--the Lansing School District's director of Instruction

"What we are looking for is the perfect marriage," said Bill Kimball, regional president of the Michigan Leadership Institute. This field of finalists comes to the school board from the Michigan Leadership Institute, a consulting firm hired for the search.

"I talked to 45 pretty extensively."

Kimball pre-interviewed all six, and assures the board they match a profile they spent nearly a week putting together earlier in the fall.

The six men and women now in the running will face the school board starting November 14th in 90 minute public interviews. They will be televised on public access for anyone who'd like to watch.

The board has pledged an open mind as they prepare now to narrow the field to two.

The candidates are learning about us as well as we are learning about them, so it's a two way street," Kimball says.

The board hopes to make an offer by December.
