LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- A Lansing-area church is suing protesters who disrupted one of their services last year.
The Lansing State Journal reports that Mount Hope Church in Eaton County's Delta Township filed suit against a radical gay activist group called Bash Back! in federal court this week.
Bash Back! claims to have disrupted a service at the church on November 9. Members shouted "It's OK to be gay" and "Jesus was a homo" at the bewildered congregation.
The suit seeks nominal damages and an injunction to prevent future protests.
A Bash Back! Web site says the group is not intimidated and will set up a defense fund to fight the suit.
