Just before 11 a.m. Friday, jurors found Lisa Holland guilty of first degree child abuse and first degree murder. It's precisely what the prosecution was pushing for, precisely what investigators say happened to Ricky at the hands of his adoptive parents.
Lisa showed no emotion as the verdict was read, though she did appear to be crying just before and after. Her family and her husband Tim's family were in court to hear the verdict.
Prosecuting Attorney Mike Ferency pushed for the verdict the jury handed down and said it's gratifying the jury came back with the child abuse charge it did. Andrew Abood, Lisa's co-counsel, says he's satisfied with the job the defense team did and maintains Lisa's innocence. Lisa will be back in court November 28th for sentencing.
