East Lansing Police confirmed a Mormon mission office building on 1500 Abbot Rd was broken into Sunday, June 14.
Authorities say nothing was stolen, but did say the crime could be connected to the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints arson case from June 30.
Police believe the fire was a result of a break-in.
Flames destroyed the church located on 431 Saginaw with damages totaling more than 5 million.
Mormon officials plan to meet Wednesday to discuss rebuilding plans that include increased security and a water sprinkler system.
Church officials hope to rebuild their new church on the site where the old one existed. They expect construction to occur this year with the hope of opening the new church in October of 2003.
