GM Recovering

Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant has been working around the clock for three days, bringing their body and paint processes up to speed. Union leaders say general assembly was cancelled for another day.

GM officials say the plant should be up to full speed by tomorrow morning. Lansing Car Assembly Plant was able to resume normal production on Monday because the outage hit during a shift change.

Since demand is down for the Alero and Grand Am, and the Chevy Classic is in fleet sales, UAW local 602 President Art Luna says its production schedule should remain the same.

Grand River will most likely work the maximum number of hours, including weekends to keep up with the demand of the Cadillac CTS.

GM officials say it's not yet known exactly how much product was lost.
