Lansing voters approved a portion of a 74.9 million dollar bond effort. The result means the modernization of some Lansing Schools and a New Pattengill Middle School.
Proposal one – the construction of a new middle school and updates to several other schools -- passed 58% to 42%.
Proposal two – the construction of a new pool and updates to some athletic facilities – was voted down 55% to 45%.
Opponents of the bond claimed the modernization plans could be executed more efficiently.
The vote means that a Lansing homeowner with a property value of $100,000 will pay an additional $88.50 in property taxes.
