New information about Wal-Mart's new plan to make generic drugs cheaper. Thursday, the retailer announced a plan to sell hundreds of prescription drugs for just $4.
Tampa is Wal-Mart's test market, come January, it will cut generic drug prices in all of Florida, and then later in 2007 prices will be cut nationwide including Michigan.
This could mean significant savings for the 46 million Americans who are uninsured.
Currently, generic drugs average anywhere from $10 to $30 and up for a 30-day supply.
