It's that time of the year when festivals and county fairs spring up throughout mid-Michigan. This weekend it's East Lansing's turn.
The Great Lakes Folk Festival makes its way to the city's downtown. Crews have been putting the final touches on the preparations for event that starts on Friday afternoon.
It's the second year of the Great Lakes Folk Festival, but was mirrored after the National Festival which was in the city for the three years prior.
Last year the festival drew 80,000 people and came in $10,000 under budget. Organizers say it costs more than $700,000 to make the festival come to life.
