The state is facing a $900 million budget deficit and state lawmakers are figuring out how big the problem is. In the meantime, local communtities stand guard.

One of the possibilities for the cutting the deficit is looking at reducing revenue sharing. Local communtities count on this money to fund basic services.

Lawmakers say they continue to look at any areas where there's flexibility in cutting the budget.

The Legislature says it continues to identify the magnitude of the problem and prioritize the needs of citizens.
