It was a patriotic return on Thursday for more than one hundred members of the Michigan National Guard.
It was the coming home of the 1437th Engineer Company stationed out of Sioux St. Marie.
These guardsmen have been stationed in Iraq since late January. They were responsible for transportation missions and building bridges.
The 1437th was greeted by many state politicians, including Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
Granholm told the 182 guardsmen and family members on hand that these are the real heroes in the world.
