New H.Q. for Consumers Energy

Despite a multi-year struggle for the energy sector, Consumers Energy (CMS Energy) dedicates a brand new headquarters in Jackson that costs the city and the company an estimated 100 million.

This spring the company laid off between 300 to 400 employees and a spokesperson for the company says the building will help towards regaining and growing jobs over time.

The new building is a two-part structure; including a traditional office building mid-rise and the rehabilitated post office in downtown.
