By a unanimous vote Lansing Township officials paved the way for business such as Sam's Club and Wal-Mart to begin development near Eastwood Towne Center.
The two retailers plan to occupy a $22 million development that’s part of an estimated 330,000 square feet.
Officials say the stores plan to open by the end of 2003.
Developers say the new business will bring in 800 to 1,200 jobs.
As part of the agreement the builders will have to implement additional safety precautions such as additional four-way stop signs and extra pedestrian sidewalks.
