LCC Sets Panel to Choose New President

The LCC Board of Trustees approved a 13-member presidential search committee Monday night.

The group will look for a permanent replacement for Paula Cunningham, who resigned her post as college president in February.

The committee includes trustees Robert Proctor and Robin Smith, student Clair Cherniawski and 11 other business and educational leaders in the Lansing area.

Judith Cardenas has been serving as interim president since March. Her term is set to expire in December, but LCC trustees said Monday that Cardenas will likely serve until June 2007.

Trustees expect the new, permanent president to begin serving next July.
