A former Jackson inmate is back behind bars after going 30 years on the run in Tennessee.
Thomas Ball was sentenced to serve 20 to 40 years in prison back in 1964 for second degree murder.
He was transferred from Jackson to Ypsilanti in 1976 and escaped later that year.
U.S. Marshals in Tennessee arrested him Wednesday morning, after getting a tip from Michigan that Ball was living under the assumed name of "Thomas Fry.”
He's currently jailed in Nashville, waiting extradition back to Michigan.
