Eastern Michigan University professors could be going back on strike after faculty members and school officials ended negotiations.
Eastern Michigan's chapter of the American Association of University Professors issued a statement this morning saying faculty and officials failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.
Union officials plan to hold a faculty meeting this afternoon to discuss the union's options, which include going back on strike.
The university says that it has proposed a new settlement offer.
But union officials say "the negotiating team did not agree" to the administration's most recent offer.
The strike began September 1.
