After a brief closing down of more than 100 stores, Grocer Farmer Jack remodels itself, improves its freshness and lowers prices. Some critics say the effort may be in vein.
Some analysts at independent financial firm, Morningstar Inc. say the move is a temporary positive at best.
Financial experts say Farmer Jack’s parent company, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Company (GAP) is not in great financial shape compared to its competitors.
Financial experts say companies like Wal-Mart and Kroger may have the size to out-purchase and out-price smaller companies like Farmer Jack.
