Thousands of Spartan fans dressed in green and white and overflowing with Spartan pride made their way to Michigan State's first football game and first tailgating opportunity of the season Saturday. And according to law student Emma Haas, it's a tradition.
"People like to come out here beforehand and just have fun. They like to hang out with their friends. It's a way to build up the excitement before the game and get the school spirit going."
Recent alum Lisa Marin agrees, "I just can't get enough you know. You miss it. I just started a full-time job. But on the weekend I want to come out here."
MSU's next home football game is Saturday, September 9th against Eastern Michigan University.
