Despite needing more than $130,000 to break even on past losses, Common Ground officials say this year will bring them closer to ultimate profitability.

The four-year-old festival made a slim profit for the first time in 2002.

While organizers say they have no goals for this year’s festival by 2004 they hope to break even.

But losses in the first two years of more than $130,000 mean about $65,000 profit must be achieved in both 2002 and 2003.

Officials expect about 70,000 to 84,000 to attend the seven-day festival.
